Terms & Conditions
Leopard Coachlines Ltd appreciate the opportunity of submitting quotations for hire together with our standard terms and conditions of hire which ensure you as the hirer are protected, and that the best interests of both parties are catered for.
Rates
The rate charged is appropriate to coach capacity, kilometres travelled, and time incurred. Any changes to the above on or before the day of hire by the hirer may result in the rate being adjusted accordingly from the original quote. The quotation is given on the understanding that the driving hours comply with current legislation.
- These regulations determine that a driver cannot be on duty for any more than 13 hours, before the driver must have a 10 hour rest break. Those 13 hours include the time the driver needs to get back to or from our depot, or to and from a hotel.
- Quoted rates include the services of a coach/bus driver. Leopard Coachlines Ltd does not hire vehicles to anyone other than employees of Leopard Coachlines Ltd.
- Quoted rates are net rates in New Zealand currency ($NZD) and include GST unless otherwise stated.
Payment Policy
Payment in full is to be required prior to departure unless approval has been granted by the company for credit terms to apply. In such a case, settlement must be made by the 20th of the month following the debit of the charge.
• For any International Transfers a bank fee of NZ$30 must be added to the payment.
• Debit or Credit Card Payments may be made as secure payments through PayPal. PayPal accepts payment by Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Please note: payments made by PayPal will incur additional bank fees of 4.5% of the total price. Please inform us immediately if you intend paying by Debit or Credit Card for inclusion on the invoice. A link to the PayPal invoice will be emailed to you. No PayPal account is required by the hirer.
Cancellation Policy
Leopard Coachlines Ltd will accept cancellations up to two working days prior to the date of the trip with no cost to the hirer, unless costs have been incurred relating to the trip. Cancellations on the day (will be accepted in some circumstances – short / weather dependent trips) may still incur some costs if the drivers have started duty or the vehicle has departed for the pick-up point.
Journey Times
The company does not guarantee to complete any journey in a given time, and accepts no responsibility or liability for additional costs, any loss, or inconvenience caused by delays or unusual circumstances which are out of our control. The company reserves the right to substitute alternative equipment at its option in the event of unanticipated circumstances which necessitate a change.
Vehicle Policy
Quotations are given and orders confirmed subject to availability of vehicles at the respective times of quotation and confirmation.
Luggage Limits/Insurance Policy
Travel light: Please limit your luggage to one medium-sized suitcase weighing no more than 23kg (50 lbs). This will be stored in the luggage compartment and will not be accessible during the day. The company does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to property left in a vehicle. Passengers leaving property in a vehicle do so entirely at their own risk.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is not permitted in any licensed premises (bars, restaurants, cafes, casinos, etc) throughout New Zealand. Smoking is not permitted on the coaches.
Section 9, subsection 3 of the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990 states "No person may smoke or vape in a passenger service vehicle."
Section 38 of the Summary Offences Act 1981 states “Every person is liable to a fine not exceeding $300 who, in or on any aircraft, hovercraft, ship or ferry or other vessel, train, or vehicle that is carrying passengers for reward, drinks any intoxicating liquor; or supplies or offers any intoxicating liquor”.
Based on the above statements, the company must enforce this with a policy banning the consumption of alcohol on all our vehicles.
Soiling & Damage Policy
The hirer is liable for the total cost of any commercial cleaning required where soiling has occurred. The hirer is liable for the first $500 for any reckless damage that occurs to the vehicle over the duration of the hire.

The law of this contract is the law of New Zealand.
Force Majeure
Except where otherwise expressly stated in these booking conditions, we regret that we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by reason of circumstances amounting to “force majeure”. In these booking conditions, ‘force majeure’ means any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include war or threat of war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside our control.
